Very often as we work on efficient department procedures & equipment, we remember just how “Thankful” we are for all of the support that we receive from our residents. It is a privilege to serve in Jefferson County FD#5. Thank you once again for your continued support!
We continue to grow and expand within our department & with our mutual aid agreements with Quilcene & Clallam County. Our volunteers are getting greater exposure & training through out joint programs. Our equipment is used more effectively
and updated more easily.
New and upcoming events: most important is the EMS Levy. Our 6 years have gone by quickly and so it is time to vote again. In the September 19th primary, you will be asked to vote on the levy as permanent at the current rate of $.50 per $1000.00. Now it costs better than $500.00 to run each election so by looking at permanent, we feel that this can provide savings and use that money more effectively. It also allows us to set a stronger long term plan into place. Since 80% of our call volume is for EMS & Rescue, this is very important. We will hold a public meeting at the Gardiner Community Center to share current practice and to answer any questions that you might have. Watch our reader board for the date and time.
The department will be hosting a volunteer picnic on July 1st at the station for our personnel & families. Stop by and join in the fun.
Lastly, we have the opportunity to do a unique program of training and are looking for donated computers (desktop or laptop). If you happen to have one that is fairly recent and no longer need it, we would gladly accept it. Feel free to drop it off at the station or call and someone will stop by and pick it up.
