MISSION STATEMENT


The Mission of Jefferson County Fire District #5 is to provide Fire and EMS services, save lives, reduce injury, protect property and on going training of volunteers on basic and new technology.

SERVICE GOALS
(Deployment Standard)

Deployment Service Goal
It is the Goal of Jefferson County Fire District #5 to provide vehicle, equipment, and training which will allow for an average response time of 12 minutes
(80% of the time).

Department Goals

It is the goal of JCFD5 to provide the best possible service to our residents through professional and up to date training, equipment, fiscal management and pro-active education. It is also our goal to provide the safest and most positive environment for our staff, volunteers and commissioners.


Therefore JCFD5 establishes the following 2004 goals:

Equipment

1. Inventory, Test and Maintain
2. Replace or Update
3. Do Current Training and Volunteer Sign-Off
4. Future purchases


Staff Support

1. Provide adequate time for goals & management
2. Provide continuing education opportunities
3. Commensurate with corresponding salaries/time

Training

1. Focus on continuous upgrading based on goals
2. Include all staff, volunteers and commissioners
3. Extend the scope of training to include new or advanced techniques comply with RCWs or that will support the current goals.
4. To adopt and implement county wide training plan for Fire Fighter I
 

Structures

1. To maintain the quality of all buildings to a safe, healthy, orderly condition

Vehicles

1. To maintain all vehicles to the highest performance standards
2. To replace vehicles based on goals and condition of the vehicle
3. To prioritize and use fiscal responsibility in choosing new vehicles.

Community Education

1. Provide education opportunities regarding FIREWISE education & Urban Interface Structure Protection
